You care that black people are happy, not that The Little Mermaid is black.

At Disney's D23 convention over the weekend, the first trailer for The Little Mermaid was unveiled.

A few days later, it was made available to the general public.

One big topic, the fact that Ariel is Black in this iteration, dominated headlines and social media.

For those of us who have been following the movie, this is nothing new because Halle Bailey's casting as Ariel was made public last year.

Of course, people who are most upset about the choice are unaware of it since they don't really care about The Little Mermaid.

They simply enjoy being racist.
