Users of Google Maps report seeing a "ghost" jet in the midst of the Australian wilderness.

Google Maps isn't perfect and might lead you on unintended detours or mislead you into thinking a business is open when it's not.

But normally it wouldn't make such a glaring error.

It doesn't have humongous jets flying over unreal forests.

That, however, is precisely what occurred Down Under.

Google Maps users have discovered a weird aircraft on the Cardwell Range, which is situated between Townsville and Cairns in the Australian rainforest.

The Australian Transport Safety Bureau told the Cairns Post that it had no knowledge of any missing passenger planes in the area.
