In a statement following Kyle Busch's Tuesday morning announcement that he would be joining Richard Childress Racing and Chevrolet,
Toyota's racing division expressed its sadness at losing its top driver and referred to Busch as one of the best drivers in NASCAR history.
In a statement issued by Toyota, David Wilson, president of Toyota Racing Development, said, "While we certainly wish Kyle the best of luck in the future
and congratulate him on his announcement to join Richard Childress Racing, we're disappointed and saddened that his future won't continue to be with Team Toyota.
Kyle has served as a Toyota ambassador since since he joined the programme in 2008.
He has since amassed some of the most illustrious accomplishments for the Toyota brand, such as our first Cup Series victory for the Camry and our first Cup Series triumph.
