Three supersonic asteroids to whizz by Earth Sunday

According to NASA's asteroid tracker, two supersonic asteroids—one of which was at least the size of the Statue of Liberty.

Just passed the Earth on September 18 and a third is expected to do the same later in the day.

According to the Center for Near-Earth Object Studies (CNEOS) at NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory.

 The three asteroids in concern have been given the designations 2005 RX3, 2022 SB, and 2022 QB37 (JPL).


With a maximum estimated size of 210 metres, the first asteroid is noticeably bigger than the rest.

The first two, which had already flown by, flew at speeds that were significantly faster than the third.
