Response To Death Of Former Star Player in MLB

The baseball community was informed earlier this week of the death of a cherished former player.

According to some accounts, John Stearns, a four-time All-Star with the New York Mets, passed suddenly on Thursday. Age-wise, he was 71.

In college, Stearns competed in two sports and was selected by the MLB and NFL.

He ultimately decided on baseball and played just one game with the Philadelphia Phillies before being sent to the New York Mets.

He continued to have a fantastic career and was invited to the All-Star game four times.

On social media, baseball fans swarmed to remember the legendary player.
