Rory McIlroy's chances at the Tour Championship this weekend didn't look good early on. But in a nail-biting final round, he managed to shock the competition and win the $26 million top prize.
Rory and the No. 1 player in the world, Scottie Scheffler, were both singled out by Tiger Woods as he discussed the crazy weekend at East Lake.
Tiger tweeted that Rory McIlroy started the week with a triple bogey but never gave up, becoming the [Tour] Champion. Scottie had a wonderful season as well, what a way to end it!
McIlroy rallied from a six-shot deficit to win, but it wasn't without Scheffler's assistance.
After losing his six-stroke advantage after the first seven holes, the No. 1 seed matched Rory's score for the remaining holes.
However, Scheffler's error on hole 18 enabled McIlroy to win with a simple par.Rory won his third FedEx Cup championship on Sunday.
