Rare parole hearing rejected major school shooter in the U.S.

On Monday, the Kentucky Parole Board decided Michael Carneal will spend the rest of his life behind bars for the 2003 shooting rampage .

Carneal's release seemed very improbable due to the high number of casualties.

Although he claims to be able to ignore the voices today, a parole board member has warned that his prognosis.

A total of 17 months would pass before Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold would murder 12 classmates and a teacher at Columbine High School in Colorado, injuring 21 more.

Carneal was found guilty of first- and second-degree murder as well as burglary of a firearm and given a life sentence.

Many think he is one of the only mass murderers to be paroled after serving time for a school shooting.
