On Tuesday, NASCAR announced a major suspension.

NASCAR said the crew had been given a penalty for a missing wheel during last weekend's Cup Series race at Bristol Motor Speedway.

"In the 93rd of 500 laps in the Bass Pro Shops Night Race, Ryan Blaney proceeded to pit road when his No. 12.

Mustang slowed with a flat tyre," the release said.

The left rear tyre came loose as he was leaving his pit box and wound up in the No. 3 Richard Childress Racing bay.

Crew chief Jonathan Hassler, pit crew members Zachary Price (rear-tire changer).

Graham Stoddard were all suspended for four races for breaking NASCAR Cup Series Rule 10.5.2.6.D. (jack).
