Netflix's "Lost in Space" showrunner Zack Estrin passes away at age 51

Prison Break and Lost in Space writer-producer Zack Estrin passed away on Friday in Hermosa Beach, California, from an undisclosed reason. He was 51.

Before moving through the ranks to become a co-executive producer of Fox's Prison Break, Estrin had a successful career in television,

beginning with credits on Charmed, Dawson's Creek, and Tru Calling.In addition to co-creating and serving as executive producer of ABC's Once Upon a Time in Wonderland,

Estrin served as showrunner and executive producer of the supernatural dramas The River and The Whispers.

In addition, he served as executive producer and showrunner for Netflix's Lost in Space remake.

Before beginning his entertainment career in movies, Estrin attended USC. He was born in Woodland, California, and reared in Brooklyn, New York.
