NBA Champion Makes Retirement Announcement

For the Kentucky Wildcats in 2009, Jodie Meeks, who was a junior in college, was a true star.

The talented shooter had a staggering scoring average of 23.7 points and shot over 40% from beyond the arc.

He was then chosen by the Milwaukee Bucks with the number 41 overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft.

Over the course of his 10 seasons in the NBA, he also played for the Toronto Raptors, Los Angeles Lakers, Orlando Magic, Washington Wizards, Philadelphia 76ers, and Detroit Pistons.

He most recently participated in the 2019 NBA Championship with the Toronto Raptors, defeating the Golden State Warriors.

Meeks will now serve as an assistant coach with the Birmingham Squadron, the New Orleans Pelicans' G League franchise, according to Drumwright.
