Mother fined $9K for instructing daughter to hit opponent during basketball game

Last year's violent event at an Orange County gym included a former NBA player's daughter.

Multiple sources say a lady who urged her daughter to strike another player at a youth basketball competition in Orange County in November must pay reparations and apologise.

 She was Corey Benjamin's daughter.
Benjamin quickly apologised for his daughter. "This is not how I raised my daughter," he told NBC LA.

Benjamin's daughter left-hooked Lauryn Ham after she made a 3-point basket. Ham didn't allow Benjamin's daughter enough space on the jumper, so they both fell.

Alice, the victim's mother, alleges the punch concussed her. She filed a police complaint and wanted to prosecute her assailant and mother, who encouraged the assault

"It's unbelievable to hear the mother tell her daughter to punch her for that," Lauryn Ham's attorney stated.
