MLB Reacts to Pitcher's Death

The unfortunate death in a vehicle accident on Sunday of a former Major League Baseball pitcher who had just joined the police force was reported.

Former pitcher Anthony Varvaro, who had resigned in 2016 to become a New York City area police officer, was murdered in a vehicle accident while on his way to pay his respects at a 9/11 monument.

The former pitcher's career included stops with the Braves, Red Sox, and Mariners.
On Sunday night, veteran MLB insider Jon Heyman paid homage to the former pitcher.

"Former St. John's, Mariners, Braves, and Red Sox pitcher Anthony Varvaro, who resigned to become a Port Authority police officer, was killed in a vehicle accident on his way to a 9/11 memorial.

 This man is outstanding in every way and has had two successful professions. RIP. 37, "The author put pen to paper.
