Kyle Busch's 2023 transfer to Richard Childress Racing

Official! Kyle Busch's JGR career ends in 2022.Busch will join Richard Childress Racing in 2023, he said Tuesday

Busch is leaving his longstanding Cup Series team for RCR, according to sources. Busch, 37, has been for JGR since 2008.

Busch claimed he wants to win races quickly and be accepted for who he is.

RCR owner Richard Childress jokingly gave Busch a watch to hold for him. In 2011, Childress attacked Busch after he hit an RCR driver in a Truck race

Longtime sponsor M&M Mars will leave Busch's No. 18 vehicle in 2022. The announcement months before the season gave the team time to locate a sponsor for Busch.

This sponsorship never happened, however. Busch, the winningest driver in NASCAR's top three series, is joining a team that hasn't won since Dale Earnhardt's era
