Hurricane Fiona as it Strengthens to Category 4 Status

The Category 4 hurricane Fiona struck the Dominican Republic and the Turks and Caicos on Wednesday.

After tearing through Puerto Rico and unleashing devastating flooding there.

The hurricane, the Atlantic's first significant one of the year, gained power as it retreated from the Bahamas and Turks & Caicos.

According to the National Hurricane Center, Fiona is bearing down on Bermuda with gusts of over 130 miles per hour.

On Wednesday, the storm was expected to gain power before perhaps diminishing by the weekend.

Since making landfall on Sunday in Puerto Rico, Fiona has only strengthened.
