In a Wednesday interview with BBC, nine-time major champion Gary Player took aim at one PGA Tour player who recently switched to LIV Golf.
Prior to attacking Cam Smith, who joined the league supported by Saudi Arabia this week after winning the 2022 Open Championship in July, Player, 86, attacked the LIV series as a whole.
"This young man is someone I genuinely believed would become successful. What kind of future does he have right now?"
The player inquired about Smith. "Will he be successful in achieving his lofty goal of becoming a champion? I'm not sure."
Although Player is by no means the first to criticise the LIV series, it is intriguing that he singled out Smith.
"We're both lawyers. Political legislation has never worried me more. How do you persuade a Republican conservative that Trump works? Crossfire Hurricane's probing sucked.
