After losing his arm in an alligator attack and becoming stranded in a swamp, a Florida man is speaking out.
Eric Merda was swimming across Lake Manatee on July 17 when an approximately 7-foot-long alligator bit and amputated his arm.
"I glanced over and saw a gator, so I swam Olympic-style and she grabbed my arm," the 43-year-old said.
The Sarasota guy sought to get assistance but got lost and roamed for three days in pain.
"With a bone protruding and discomfort, I screamed for three days," he added.
"I emerged from the swamp naked and with one arm." "I think I was resurrected to inspire others."
