First Thing: quake shakes Mexico on commemoration of two past quakes

A size 7.5 quake has struck western Mexico on the commemoration of two prior wrecking quakes, killing no less than one individual and causing flooding on the Pacific coast.

"It's this date, something really doesn't add up about the nineteenth," said Ernesto Lanzetta, an entrepreneur in the Cuauhtémoc ward of the capital.

The shudder hit at 1.05pm neighborhood time, striking close to the town of La Placita de Morelos in the province of Michoacán at a profundity of 15km.
