Finally burying Pearl Harbor sailor

Jacobson's relatives had been waiting a lifetime to honour the life of the young man they heard so much about but never had the chance to meet.

Jacobson was one of almost 400 sailors and Marines who lost their lives on the USS Oklahoma when it was attacked by the Japanese at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941.

On December 7, 1941, the Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor, killing American sailors and Marines aboard the USS Oklahoma, including Jacobson.


His burial site at Arlington National Cemetery has been selected.


The final resting place of his body will be in Arlington National Cemetery.
