Drop Covid-19 border measures

Canada will eliminate all remaining Covid border restrictions, including immunisation requirements.

Since 1 October, travellers no longer require Covid immunisation evidence, testing, or isolation and quarantine.
Mask requirements will be abolished on aircraft and railways.

The ArriveCan app will become optional for uploading health papers upon entering Canada.

Health minister Jean-Yves Duclos said Monday that Canada is "in a lot better situation" than previously in the epidemic owing to Covid-19 vaccinations and treatment options.

High immunisation rates (82%) and a declining mortality rate are other considerations.
Virus kills 32 Canadians daily.

Mr. Duclos stated the rise in Covid-19 cases in Canada is "primarily explained by domestic transmission"
Ottawa is ready to restoring measures if a highly transmissible variety develops.
