Cuba evacuates as TS Ian approaches.

Authorities in Cuba's Pinar del Rio province have cancelled schools and announced that they would begin evacuations on Monday .

Tropical Storm Ian, which is expected to build into a hurricane before making landfall in Cuba's western region on route to Florida.

Both Grand Cayman and the Cuban provinces of Isla de Juventud, Pinar del Rio, and Artemisa were under hurricane watches.

The U.S. National Hurricane Center predicted that by late Monday or early Tuesday, Ian will make landfall in western Cuba, close to the country's most famous tobacco farms.
