Cottonmouth Eats Python in the Everglades; X-Ray Is Completely Bizarre

It's not every day that you get to see a whole snake within another snake, but that's precisely what this x-ray posted by Zoo Miami on Facebook reveals.

Cottonmouth, measuring 43 inches in length, shown here in the x-ray photograph devouring a Burmese python of 39 inches in length.

The finding would not have been possible without the transmitter.

This is one of two cases when scientists located a cottonmouth after it had consumed a python, as reported in a December 2018 research.

There was the first occurrence in August of 2020, and the second in May of 2021.

Conservancy of Southwest Florida researchers were keeping tabs on a female Burmese python in May 2021.
