Brittney Griner's confinement hits a new low

As of Monday, Brittney Griner has been incarcerated in Russia for 200 days.

Griner has been arrested in Russia since February 17 when airport officials detected cannabis vape cartridges in her baggage.

She was tried, convicted, and is serving a nine-year sentence for drug smuggling and possession, even though she had a prescription

The U.S. and Russia have been negotiating for a while to send Griner home.

As many analysts have stated, the Russian court procedure was a charade and

"political theatre" to lure discussions for a prisoner exchange that may see the basketball star and another U.S. inmate released home for Russians in U.S. jails.
