As the MLB playoffs approach, the Astros make a significant Justin Verlander move.

Fans of the Houston Astros have been eagerly awaiting news on Justin Verlander. The seasoned superstar was placed on the IL due to a calf issue.

Houston supporters received the good news just before the playoffs began.

The Astros made the official return of Verlander known. His next start will be against the Oakland Athletics.

They had to move Seth Martinez down to their Triple-A club, the Sugar Land Space Cowboys, in order to create place for him on the roster.

In 2022, Verlander is enjoying a fantastic season. He has a strong claim to the American League Cy Young Award with a 1.84 ERA, 0.855 WHIP, and 154 strikeouts in 152.0 innings.

The veteran has to return right before the playoffs start so that he can recover his rhythm before the action heats up.
