An enormous fire is raging at an Ohio BP plant.

Officials said that two individuals were hurt after a massive fire broke out at an Ohio refinery owned by British Petroleum on Tuesday.

Social media posts on the Husky Toledo Refinery in Oregon, a city nearby Toledo, showed massive flames and a column of black smoke.

Two persons were hurt, according to a BP spokesman, in a fire that was active Tuesday night.

She said that all other employees had been located, and that the refinery had been shut down as firefighters battled the incident.

A supervisor with the Lucas County 911 Regional Council of Governments, Andrew Laurell, said it wasn't immediately obvious where the fire started at the factory or whether anyone was hurt.

The facility, which can generate 160,000 barrels of crude oil day, or around 3.8 million gallons of gas, is referred to by BP as a "cornerstone" of the local economy.
