In preparation for their season opener against the Chicago Bears, the San Francisco 49ers are still experimenting with different lineups. This is why one of the team's wideouts is leaving.
NFL insider Ari Meirov reports that the 49ers have waived veteran wide receiver Willie Snead. Snead first joined the club in August, but was cut during the season's final roster purge
Snead was a member of the Carolina Panthers and the Las Vegas Raiders for five games in 2017. The few catches he did get were a career low for him.
Once thought to be a future star with the New Orleans Saints, Snead has had a rather terrible fall from grace. His career seems to be on the verge of death right now.
Snead was released by the Cleveland Browns and the Carolina Panthers before signing with the New Orleans Saints after going undrafted out of Ball State in 2014.
Almost a thousand receiving yards and another eight hundred and ninety-five the next year were only the beginning of Snead's impressive career. He was only allowed eight catches in 11 games in 2017.
